Away from the norm.

The color pink seems to be a color subjected to females. You hardly ever see males wear pink just because they want to. Either that or they are subjected to being a bit homosexual, atleast that was how it was in the past. Men are docile bodies created by women because they have a fondness of masculinity. Men are expected to be muscular, confident, most of the time athletic to be consider hot, six packs are always nice. As well as colors, earrings were consider very girly, only girls were seen as the right kind of people to wear jewelry. One would never see guys wearing colorful bracelets or rings or necklaces if it didn't make them look good or "hang down low". However as culture adapts, people tend to stray away from stereotyping others just on appearance. Men and women alike have grown away from intelligible bodies, where more men are wearing bright color clothing, jewelry, they also grow long hair, where many will and do get perms. Women, aren't looked at differently because they like to wear sweat pants, or baggy clothes, where some may label them as tomboyish. Women sometimes shave their head bald, and men sometimes wear makeup.  These body practices were always avoided by their respective gender in fear of being looked down upon, however, many people have allowed the thought of intelligible bodies out of their minds, or maybe, they've just had a spark of confidence.

  1. Ironically, this weekend I went home and last night I had dinner with some of my extended family. While at dinner I was telling a story about how I went with my friend to get her tragis pierced during the story my aunt who has a son who is in fifth grade started to stop me from telling the story because her son was there. I stopped and she gave me a look that basically said stop giving my son ideas about piercings. I thought it was really strange because I know a lot of guys who have piercings but your blog made me realize that my aunt is one of those people who frowns at the idea of a guy having his ears pierced.
