As we all know, the clothing store of Abercrombie & Fitch has been known to publish some very scandalous pictures in their ads. The men are almost always shirtless and more ripped than Arnold Schwarzenegger and the women look like they should be in Victoria's Secret since they almost always have nothing covering their chest. The message Abercrombie is trying to get across is that " if you buy our clothes, this is exactly how you're going to look!" While the truth is, " a pair of jeans will cost you $70 and you have to be no more than a size 8." The problem with this is that it is a very low percent of the population of teens and young adults who are below a size 8 and hardly anyone thinks its reasonable to spend $70 on jeans alone. A certain cultural aspect to this is most specific to girls in middle school to the early years of high school and that you will only be cool if you wear super expensive clothes and look like baby prostitutes. The pictures that they use to advertise their clothes are absolutely terrible I think because they make you develop low self-esteem and give you false hope in ever looking that good shirtless while hanging out with your buddies.
