Organized religion may be flawed, but it is hardly worthless. Organized religions have and do great good for individuals and culture. Mission trips are very common among youth church groups, where they'll go to a povern-stricken area in a different country and help out the community in ways such as building homes or holding small praise groups. Many European hospitals are organized and established by organized religious groups.
However, anything that becomes institutionalized becomes flawed to some extent, whether it be government, education, economics, politics, etc. Institutionalization of anything tends to create oppression and power struggles to some degree.
Overall, it really just comes down to what's making the most sense at this point in your life. Many choose to buy into the concept of organized religion because it gives them a sense of belonging or feel that it's something that brings their family closer. It's understandable to think of the church as a safety net for a lot of people, something they can always depend on. It makes them feel better to confess something they feel guilt about. That doesn't even have to be religion, it's just a fact of life that talking about your guilt is much more relieving then holding it all in. For those that don't believe in the concept, it's just a different way that they spend their money rather than pouring it into a collection basket. It's a life choice that many have the opportunity to make.
